SSAS exists to support the conservation and research of archaeological sites and to educate the public so these sites may be available for future generations to enjoy.Â

To record archaeological and rock art sites in Central California
To promote and stimulate interest and research in the field of archaeology and rock art
To establish and maintain contacts with local, national and international organizations, agencies, educational institutions, and individuals engaged in archaeological research and related fields
